Awards and Projects
Lillian Foreman Scholarship Fund: Established in 1995 and named after Past Chapter Regent Lillian Finch Foreman.

Williams Science Award: Established in 1998 and named after the late Past Chapter Regent Hazel Williams, a 25-year member. The award is presented annually to a graduating Nathan Hale-Ray High School senior. Regent Williams also created the booklet, "We the People, a Brief History of the Constitution."

Veterans: Holiday cookie packing, sponsor a veteran in the Secret Santa program, "Wreaths Across America," aluminum can tabs, cancelled stamps, and other events.

DAR Good Citizens Award Local high school students are honored each November for dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism to an outstanding degree. The awardees are elected by school faculty.

Nathan Hale Schoolhouse: The schoolhouse, owned by the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) and located on Main Street in East Haddam, Connecticut, is open May through October. Chapter members volunteer as docents to welcome visitors, tours, and class field trips. Contact the chapter regent, who will put you in touch with our schoolhouse docent chairman, for tours as well as for volunteer opportunities. The Major-General Joseph Spencer Monument is also located on the property and was erected with DAR assistance.

"Wreaths Across America": A sponsorship program to provide wreaths on deceased veterans' graves during the winter holidays at local cemeteries to honor those who have served; to honor and remember these patriots - past, present, and those who will carry on the tradition of Duty, Honor, and Country in the future.
